Petanque

Petanque is simply a French game of bowls. There is a difference in that small metal balls are used, and pitches (or terrains) are smaller and can be custom 'built' or, as in many French villages, will be a spare piece of land, possibly near the cafe/restaurant. It is always handy to be close to a place of refreshment!

UpARA's terrains (we have 2) are located at Upchurch River Valley Golf Club, accessed via the car park to the left of the Pro shop. We play once a month on a Tuesday at 2.00 pm in the Summer, and 1.00 pm in the Winter. There are additional Summer special evening sessions at 6.00 pm, normally on a Monday. Details of times and fees are in the activities summary table

The dates and timings are always shown for the forthcoming month on the monthly Events Calendar, and also on the Web Site main calendar. Be sure to check these, as they can be subject to change.
